QUEEN opening day advertisement Monday 29th June 1936. Built by Franklin Theatrical Enterprises who had opened the KING Downtown six months earlier. The souvenir reference would indicate the venue was named after Lili’uokalani (1838-1917) last sovereign monarch of the Hawaiian Kingdom, but it has been suggested that Emma (1836-1885) was the relevant queen.
