The Palace Theatre was originally a vaudeville theatre, dating from at least 1928. It was operating as a movie theatre from 1931, and was one of five or six theatres located in the downtown section of Greensboro. The Palace Theatre was on East Market Street at Bennett Street and catered to African-American patrons. The theatre closed sometime in the early-1960’s and has since been demolished.
