This opened on December 15th, 1995. Grand opening ad in photo section.
Yes, I am the same Bruce Copio that worked for General Cinema/AMC from 1981 to 2003. I have been here at Mahoning since 2003.
Small world. My best friend was the manager who opened the place. I cleaned the screens there a few times when I had my business. Hope all is well. I was a projectionist at many GCC sites including Menlo Park, Woodbridge, Blue Star, Brunswick and Bridgewater from 1977 till the early 2000’s. I lasted full time until May 2013 when digital finally got me. Im a stagehand now mostly at the Prudential Center in Newark NJ.
A lot of memories over the years. I was at Blue Star, Hudson Plaza, Morris County Mall, Seaview Square, Somerville Circle, Bridgewater, and Lehigh Valley over a 22 year period.
Opened on different screens with “Sabrina”, Father of the bride 2, “Ace Ventura 2 when nature calls”, “Jumanji”, “Babe” and “Mortal kombat”.
Theater will not reopen after the pandemic.

I am long time friend of the first manager who opened this place back in 1995.

The only chance that this theater has to reopen is if a smaller chain like New Vision Theaters acquires the location or AMC takes over and makes it a Classic location.
https://www.mcall.com/business/retail-watch/mc-biz-lehigh-valley-area-movie-theater-reopening-20210219-4gcaubuk7rhv7p3icobga3k7b4-story.html A new chain has aquired the lease and will be opening the theater as as the FunTime Cinemas Mahoning Valley 8. The previous owner left the property basically turnkey so it should be back open shortly.
Fun Time Cinemas is throwing in the towel. They are closing as of September 14, 2023.
