The State Theatre launched March 7, 1927 at the height of Seminole’s oil boom with Buster Keaton in “The General” as well as live music from Si Wilk’s Hicksville Band.

Now days Sharpes Clothing occupies the old State Theatre space at 238 N. Main St.

These vintage images from OHS may (or may not) be shots of the Seminole State Theatre. Anyone know for sure?

As mentioned on another page by Miss Toast, religeious movie showing was a cheapie from gimmick producer Kroger Babb. Babb usually pitched sexploitation pictures that usually didn’t live up to the promised hype of titilation.
