I believe the Cinema-Theatre "La Renaissance" was opened in the 1920’s. As a 1,000 seat single screen cinema, it was the largest and best picture theatre in the town Point-a-Pitre, Guadeloupe which is located in the French Antilles.

During the 1940’s it played French and American films under the guidence of Paul Delos who was its Managing Director. Full use was made of its stage for live performances during the fifties and sixties.

In later years it was split into a two screen cinema. Closed for many years, it it currently awaiting a renovation.
