According to the official website as 0f 10-12-2012, the needed funds to build a replacement for this theater could not be raised, and the lack of listings there implies that theater has closed.

It looks as though this theater’s operations may not be rehoused in Kalamazoo after all; the couple that operates the theater is looking to relocate to Fenton, MI and reopen a closed theater there if they can raise the funds. View article

The strip mall in which this theater is located has been purchased and will be leveled in order to build a home improvement store. Loyal patrons have helped launch fund-raising efforts to relocate, expand, and upgrade the theater’s operations. View article

Cinema 5 reopened approx 2003, privately run family theatre, they put new seating in, screens, and stereo!, something that the theatre never had. Cheaper prices on admission and concession. A good place for enjoyable lower priced entertainment. Small theatres and small screens, but top notch presentation.I attend at least twice a week. They dont seem to have the talky teenagers and phones ringing thru the film, They also try to show some independent films as well,I saw Frozen River and The Queen before it was at other theatres, and before the Academy Awards.
