1939 photo credit LouAnn Waters Dykhouse, who is quoted below via the Vintage Photos of Sevier County, TN Facebook page. “Pines theater, the building is still there on Joy Street, next to my grandparent’s home, now used as the office for the family businesses. This was owned and operated by my Grandmother, Myrtle Paine Waters. This was the first place Dolly Parton performed in front of a paying audience. She reconstructed this theater at Dollywood.”
