“Even the Usherettes are ‘Glorified,’” claimed the announcement. Programs changed three times weekly, with a subsequent-run feature and short subjects. As the Depression worsened, the Ziegfeld switched to double features in the top tier of Loew’s neighborhood theatres in Manhattan.
