Downtown Charleston was lucky to have this one screen gem, which was opened from around 1993-2001. It was a great location (right on East Bay Street, a short walk to many restaurants and the market area) and they would show first run independent films. They also served pizza, sandwiches, beer and wine.

I used to visit it each time I was in town visiting my family and I saw many, many great films (Muriels Wedding, Blow, Pulp Fiction, Amelie, The Postman and Life is Beautiful). I really miss it and although the Terrace Theatre is right over the bridge on James Island, the Roxy was always my favorite.
