Located in Ardrossan, Ayrshire. The Lyric Cinema opened in 1914. It has a 17 feet wide proscenium. It was still operating as a cinema in 1954, but had closed by 1963.

It was one of the first cinemas in Ayrshire to be converted opened as a bingo club. This was closed in the early-2000’s and the auditorium was demolished to build flats on the site. The façade was retained.

On 14th April 1971, Historic Scotland designated the Lyric Cinema a Grade B Listed building.

The building has been closed for a number of years as of March ‘08. Sadly, it now looks very rundown in an area which is in dire need of regeneration. Photograph just prior to closure here:

Only the facade remains, flats have replaced the auditorium.
