The Cinema Hickson is located near the Melanesian Hotel south of the town centre of Port Vila (the capital town), on the island of Efate, part of the Pacific islands group of Vanuatu.
It plays first run films mainstream films and if playing French films there are usually no sub-titles (English and French are spoken languages here). In 2003 and 2004 it hosted two Australian film festivals.
There was talk in 2007 that the Cinema Hickson could close due to re-development of the area. It was closed by 2010.
