cbranstool, I do not have a copy of the 1914-15 Motion Picture Directory, so I believe that information was added by Cinema Treasures. I have posted a Paramount Week ad from 1918 in the photo section.

Hey Al Alvarez, I’m doing some research for LES History month. You mentioned that Avenue A Theater having a listing in an old directory as well as an ad. Would you be able to provide me photos of the directory listing or the ad? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Never heard of LOEWS HOLLYWOOD, but check out the story of LOEWS Avenue B build on the site of Marcus Loew birthplace.

That would be the Loews Hollywood, see the listing with photos on this site. And there’s a link to a photo from when it was operating.

If the Avenue A was on 4th Street (where the Ageloff Towers stand) then what theater was on Avenue A between 6th and 7th, the building still standing?

In 1929 the existing buildings on this block were demolished to erect two apartment blocks called Ageloff Towers, still standing, that have some nice deco details.
