On May 17, 1920, the 1,000 seat Strand Theatre opened with “A Daughter of Two Worlds” and “The Garage.” “Daughter” star Norma Talmadge sent a telegram to the Strand Theater Corporation stating, “Heartfelt congratulations for opening your new Strand Theatre. I am glad you are playing my picture. I hope your patrons will like it.”
