The May 15, 1948 issue of Boxoffice noted that construction had begun on an 850-seat theater in East Stockton for Rotus Harvey’s Westside Theatres company. For many years the theater was used as a church, but it now appears to be vacant.

Man, it’s been so long. My grandfather owned that. His name was Jesus Horta. God I have so many memories .. Don’t know where to start? I know that place is haunted lol. I used to help my grandfather run the movies. While my grandma and auntie Juanita and aunt Sylvia helped them run it. Lol. I miss it there… I don’t know if they still own it?

This one is still standing. If you look up the address on Google Maps, it maps to South East Street, just before it intersects with East Main Street. Look at the Street View for the intersection of East Main & South East Streets; the Capri is to your right, on the corner. Appears to be boarded up and long forgotten.
