Splendid Cinema

Located in the east London district of Forest Gate, on Forest Lane, close to Forest Gate railway station. The Forest Gate Cinema was opened in 1912. It was designed by architects J. Groom & P.J. Groom. By 1922 it had been re-named Forest Lane Cinema and it continued until July 1932, when it was closed for construction of a new stage and store.

It re-opened on 1st August 1932 as the Splendid Cinema. It was closed in 1939, and was later demolished.

The site was taken over by Forest Gate Comprehensive School to extend their grounds.
