Roma Cinema

Opened in 1933 by the Rahm circuit, like the Kursaal Cinema, it was also in the Forest district. Both of them were near the Place Saint Denis. In the 1950’s it had two programmes a week like the Kursaal Cinema, but with the difference that the programming was more for adults. The Kursaal Cinema which also had 2 programmes was more all family films.

The Roma Cinema closed in 1960, and in 1961, the Rahm family had planned to reopen it with a greater capacity of 1,000 seats but this plan failed. The front of the building has been converted into apartments, while when viewed in May 2013 auditorium was unused after previously having some use as a workshop. In 2023 it was converted into the Jules Verne Cultural Centre.
