Opened as the Palace Theatre in the late-1930’s, by 1941 it had been renamed the Avalon Theatre. The Avalon Theatre operated as a movie theatre well into the late-1950’s. Seating was listed at 300.
Since closing it was converted to retail and at the time of printing the article listed it as Baker’s Jewelry Store.

I’m surprise to learn about the Avalon Theatre in Warren, Arkansas. I grew up in Banks, Ark and Warren, Ark and I’ve never heard of the Avalon. I know exactly where this location is, but I had no idea that the building ever housed a theatre. Ummm, I learn something new every day! Thank you for this important information about my hometown.
