The former Skyland Cinema will soon be transformed into the Appalachian Pinball Museum. As an homage to the cinema, the theatre seats have been set up in the lobby and filled by cardboard cut outs of famous movie personalities. The pinball museum should be opening by December 1st 2017.

We never had any intentions of moving back to the Skyland and advised the person who was considering it not to do so. The reason we moved is we couldn’t get film – even if digital – because Epic Theaters moved in and took over the licensing zone.

This theater was moved to Flat Rock many years ago and operates successfully with a digital projector as the Flat Rock Cinema

According to my Cousin, the Skyland Arts Cinema will not reopen, the lady backing the project does not have funds,My Cousin had already brought a platter over from the old CAROLINA 1 and 2, and now has to return it to storage, with Ditigal coming it never made sense. He said her popcorn poper was the size of a mircowave.
