The Ritz Theatre in Crescent closed in 1971. It was operated by The McConnel movie circuit a private owned company with theatres in several cities in Oklahoma, Texas and Kansas. The building was severely damaged by fire in about 1978. All of the equipment was destroyed and the building sat vacant for several years before being renovated and was used for another type of business. The original building was build as a Theatre by the Graff family a very prominent family of the area.

Here is an item from the September 10, 1927 issue of Moving Picture World:

“CRESCENT. OKLA. — George Graff, care Crescent Milling Company, has plans by P. H. Weathers, Old Exchange Building, Oklahoma City for one-story brick theatre, 50 by 140 feet.”
The January 8, 1928 issue of The Film Daily listed the Ritz Theatre in Crescent, Oklahoma as one of the new houses in which the National Theatre Supply Company had recently installed equipment.
