Beacon Theatre

Opened as the Strand Theatre in 1914 it first operated as a vaudeville theatre. It was renamed Beacon Theatre, reopening on November 8, 1930 with Grant Withers in “Dancing Sweeties”. It was located on Main Street at Rupert Avenue. The theatre was owned by Odeon Theatres. Seating for the Beacon Theatre was listed at 990.

The theatre closed in 1961.

Theatres of Winnipeg says that this house opened as the Strand in 1914, and was renamed the Beacon in 1930.

reopened as Beacon on November 8th, 1930. Grand opening ad posted.
