Corn Exchange Cinema

Located in Faringdon, Oxfordshire (formerly part of Berkshire) on the Cornmarket at the corner of Gloucester Street and Marlborough Street. The former Corn Exchange was converted into a cinema in 1914, just prior to the outbreak of World War I.

In the early-1930’s a Gyrotone sound system was installed, with the first ‘talkie’ film presented being “Almost a Honeymoon”.

The Corn Exchange Cinema was closed in 1945. The building is now in use as a market hall.
