Toy Theatre

The Toy Theatre opened on Thursday, September 14, 1950 at 6 pm. It was located at the intersection of East Howard and Cedar Street. Near the location of the Roxy Theatre. The building was built by Ernest Sumerlin over a period of two years and was located next door to his parents home on East Howard Avenue on their property. Ernest was assisted in its operation by a partner and his family. The Toy Theatre catered to the neighborhood trade.
