In 1928, 16,000 pounds was planned to be spent on remodeling, reseating and a new organ. In October 1934 the theatre closed for a week for changes to the proscenium area, reopening Saturday 20 October 1934 as Hoyts NEW De-Luxe with a documentary “The Old Bus” featuring The Southern Cross and a history of Australian aviation.
