This opened on July 24th, 1987 and closed in 1995. Grand opening ad in the photo section.

Fairly confident 1987 was the opening date – the first movies I saw there were Can’t Buy Me Love, Dirty Dancing, Throw Momma from the Train, Back to the Beach, The Monster Squad (I was 11, come on). I went to a lot of movies in those days and remember where in most cases, and I don’t see any 1986 releases I associate with that theater. It closed up shop in 1993 at the earliest, but might have squeaked into 1994.

I think there was a pretty decent gap between the Storey’s and this theater; possibly three years (the last movie I remember seeing there was A Christmas Story in ‘83, but for some reason I remember Gary Busey’s The Bear on a marquee in '84).

This did replace Storey’s twin, but I believe it opened prior to 87. Closed and replaced by AMC’s 16 which was built using this locations auditoriums and adjacent retail space. The “new” auditoriums were stadium, the old slopped floor. This may have changed over the years, I haven’t been in the AMC since it first opened.
