The exterior must have taken an extreme change. :(

Nothing like it was.

Yes, rrstar, the Rialto became a Wometco house when Wometco bought Cobian/Commonwealth.

I think the Rialto was a Wometco Commonwealth theater at one time. Is that the case, AGR?

The Rialto is now and has been for many years a Burger King at San Francisco Street next to La Barandilla steps and the park, which have been in the process of being reconstructed for about 2 years. When Rafael Ramos Cobián owned the San Juan Senadores baseball team, players from the continental USA stayed at an apartment on top of the Rialto. The Burger King is now serving mallorcas for breakfast, and the Burger King in Ponce serves sweet plantains as part of its menu. At least it was serving them a few years ago.

Jose: Any chance of finding that picture and getting it posted again?

BURGER KING
Calle San Francisco #269
San Juan, Puerto Rico 00901

That should be in Old San Juan
at the corner of Calle Tanca
by Plaza Salvador Brau

If I can find that all out 40 miles south of Chicago, Illinois, I challenge you folks in Puerto Rico to check that Burger King out and see if you can figure out if it’s the old Teatro Rialto and let us know what you find out and have a hamburger in it’s memory.
