No airstrip visible in Microsoft Flight Simulator. Aerial posted.
I highly doubt this is the address to a drive-in. A 1955 aerial shows the same building in place at the entrance which still exists today. Plus, there is the issue of a landing strip which I cannot find either in aerials or topo maps near the town.
A search of the 1955 and 1982 aerials show nothing resembling a drive-in around the area. That doesn’t mean a drive-in didn’t exist. It could mean that it was built after 1955 and totally demolished by 1982.
Again, more proof is needed to accurately place the drive-in, especially if a landing strip was nearby.
This could have been another “pop-up” temporary drive-in, as aerial photos and topo maps from the 1950s and 1960s show no evidence of drive-in remnants in the vicinity.
I am told there was also an indoor theater in Creswell so far have not found any info or pictures of this theater. This theater was located near the Drive-In Theater.
Does anyone have any info on this theater? Is it listed in any theater catalogs? It had a landing strip, was there a row for airplanes? Any information would br great.
