County Cinema

Located in Cumbernauld, North Lanarkshire. The County Cinema was built by the County Bingo Clubs chain. In order to get permission to build their bingo hall, they had to agree to also build a cinema adjoining it. The County Cinema was opened in 1978. It was not a great success and was closed in the early-1980’s (the bingo hall continued to operate).

The County Cinema was converted into a theme bar, then it became the dining and bar area for the bingo club. The projection box is now the kitchen.
