The Fremont Theatre was opened on November 22, 1926 with Norma Shearer in “The Waning Sex” & Mable Norman in “Raggedy Rose”. On the stage were the 14 member Gypsy Strollers Company. It was located just to the east of the Wall Theatre. Seating was provided for 1,000, all on a single floor and the proscenium was 32ft wide. It was operated by the World Theatre Circuit, based in Omaha, Nebraska.
The Fremont Theatre was closed on June 25, 1975 with Barbra Streisand in “What’s Up Doc?”. The building was demolished in February 1992, and the site became a parking lot.

The 1927 FDY lists the Fremont Theatre as one of several Nebraska houses operated by the World Realty Co. of Omaha. A photo of the Fremont Theatre appeared on this page of Motion Picture News for December 28, 1929.

The Fremont closed June 25, 1975 at end of lease with “What’s Up, Doc?” The theatre had free Christmas screenings and a religious screening before being taken over in 1976 becoming the short-lived Jim Rhodus' Fremont Theatre Restaurant and Lounge. After that failed, it became the Family Fun Center in 1980. The theatre was demolished in February of 1992.
