Informally opened at 2.30pm on 6th February 1922 with “Peck’s Bad Boy”. On 23rd March 1934 the auditorium was severely damaged by fire. It re-opened on 6th August 1934. On 25th November 1944 it was leased to the J.F. Emery circuit and became a repertory cinema on 7th January 1945. There were also Saturday matinees for children attending the Merryfolk cinema club. On 21st August 1952 the lease was taken over by C.E. Mison, a former manager with Emery circuit. Closure date is uncertain but no entry in 1959 Kine Yearbook.
