Originally a Salvation Army hall, it was converted into the Kinema in June 1919. In late-1923 it was taken over by a new operator and was re-named Pavilion Cinema. It was closed by 1926.
The building was taken over by the Co-Operative Society and went into retail use. In 2015 it is in use as a coin-op laundrette and dry cleaners.
