King's Pictures

King’s Hall was built in 1911. First screenings(1913?)in the hall. After World War I a syndicate of local businessmen set up Soldiers Pictures in the King’s hall, now called King’s Theatre, using the proceeds to assist the rehabiliation of returned servicemen. The theatre was renamed Radio Pictures(before 1930). The theatre closed when the nearby Radio Theatre opened in April 1937.

The old theatre was became a motor vehicle business(Wheat Family). The building was sold in April 1986 and it became a indoor archery centre behind a camping store. By May 2020 it was in use as a liquor store.

The camping store(Tent City(also called Geraldton Camping and Sporting store)) has closed. Unknown if the indoor archery centre is still operating?

The camping store building in front may have been part of the King’s Pictures building too?
