The Twin Drive-In built by R.L. Barton and opened August 24, 1960 with Marilyn Monroe in “Let’s Make Love”. It was renamed Sooner Twin Drive-In on May 3, 1963. It was closed in 1980. The site is a business park today.

Only thing still there is the remains of the snack bar. It’s back in the woods about 50 yards from a roadway.
This opened as the Twin Drive-In on August 24th, 1960 and renamed Sooner Twin Drive-In on May 3rd, 1963. Closed 1980
A more accurate address for this theater is 6103 SE 29th St, Midwest City, OK 73110. This points directly to the entrance road. Now several businesses (West screen) and overgrown woods (East screen).

According to a lengthy article, with photos, in the Dec. 5, 1960 issue of Boxoffice, the entrance to the Twin was lined with “Softly glowing gas lights … to create an easy transition for motorists from the bright lights of the highway to the semi-darkness of the ramp areas.”
Boxoffice, March 10, 1975: “Joe Abousleman, Commonwealth’s Quail Twin city manager, … advised that Commonwealth was taking over the Sooner Twin Drive-In”
