Cinema

In the small town of Cardenden, in Fifeshire, between Kirkcaldy and Dunfermline, it is not known when the Cinema opened.

It is not listed in the 1914 Kinematograph Year Book, but it is in the 1927 edition, advertising “Pictures and Variety”. It was equipped with a British Thomson-Houston(BTH) sound system. It was closed in 1936 when the new Art Deco style Rex Cinema opened at 165-167 Station Road.

By March 2006 it was in use as the Fife Carpet Mill, which continues in 2016.
