Allen Theatres Centennial Twin opened on July 1, 1976. Its premiere attractions were “All The President’s Men” and “Robin & Marian".

The theater, designed by Mel Glatz, was equipped with a platter system. It was explained that a series of mirrors was used to project the picture to the screen so the projection room could be built on the same level as the seats.

The Centennial Twin was also an early theater designed for the handicapped, long before required by the ADA of 1990. The theater was equipped with ramps and space in the auditoriums and restrooms for wheelchair access.

The Daily Times reported in 2007 that for the last few years there had been a 15 percent decrease in business each year. While operating as a $2.50 a ticket house by Allen Theatres, it closed on October 21, 2007, with “Harry Potter” and “Transformers".
