According to Brownfield News, Bill Mathis opened the Queen Theatre as an airdome but a roof was later added.
The Queen Theatre was where Earl Jones, veteran Brownfield theater man, got his start as a projectionist in 1916. In 1922 Mr. Jones and W.A. Bynum opened the Legion Theatre at 206 S. 5th Street, by which time the Queen Theatre was gone.
