Why the name Elwick?
Tasmania’s first drive-in theatre.
Operater - Bruce Selleck(Northside Drive–in P/L(1956 - 1967)), Tasmanian Drive-in Theatres(Village Cinemas)(1968 to 1985).

Address is 6 Goodwood Road. 676 cars. Located in the unused centre of the Elwick Racecourse.Tasmania’s first drive-in theatre. The drive-in was demolished in 2004 and the racecourse redevoloped. The Racecourse is also Luxbet Park.
