Meckering Public Hall

Located on the southeast corner of Johnson Street & Dempster Street. Meckering Public Hall first screened movies in(1920’s). Movie screenings finished in(1961 to 1968?). The Meckering Public Hall and the town of Meckering was damaged by an earthquake measuring 6.9 on the Richter scale on 14th October 1968. The Meckering Public Hall was badly damaged and demolished. A new Meckering Town Hall was built in the rebuilt town west of the original site. Unknown if movies have screened in the new Town Hall.
