As a young naughty bored boy in boring collie, I broke into the theatre royale. Nowadays it would be a treasure but then all the chairs had been stacked up and in front was a jewellry shop and Pengrays furniture. I was responsible for a lot of exploring that old theatre.across the roof inside. into the projector room. Yup I will Never forget the joy of climbing up the ladder behind the stage , across the ceiling – so high.

The royal Theatre closed on 11/11/1967. It was planed to turn the former theatre Building into a public library, but public opposition prevented it happening, so it was sold to R&I(Rural and Industries)bank, who buikt a new bank now called Bankwest.
