Cinema Odeon

In Modena, in the Emilia-Romagna region of northern Italy, this, believe it or not, is what is left of the former Cinema Odeon!

It opened in 1947 and it had closed by 2001 (by which time it had become home to adult films), when the building moved into its most (in)famous phase!

In 2002 an agreement was reached between the city authorities and private companies to re-develop the building into a 40-car mechanized parking garage and, on the upper floors, a gym.

Unfortunately, the project has been subject to seemingly endless delays. Hence the state of the building on my visit in September 2016.
