Shire Hall and Gardens

Located on the northeast corner of McPherson Street and Caron Street. The Roads Board Hall opened in(1929 or 1930?). A Outdoor Gardens was opened behind the hall. Movies were screened from(1940’s?) to(early-1960’s?). The Roads Boards Hall was demolished in 1962, and replaced with a Shire Hall. Movies were not screened in the new Shire Hall, because movies screenings were shown at the new Broadlands(Carnamah) Drive-In.

The Shire Hall is still there, but no longer screens movies!? After the drive-in closed, the projectors were returned to the Shire Hall, with the intention of starting movies screenings again, but unknown if that has happened!?
