The 12 acre 750-car Keystone Drive-In opened on June 15, 1949 with the musical comedy “Copacabana” with Carmen Miranda and Groucho Marx. It was originally operated by Max and Sam Chapman. Later operated by the Sameric chain from Philadelphia. It was twinned in 1982.
The Keystone Drive-In closed at the end of the 1986 season and was demolished. The ground was sold to AMP Incorporated for use in expansion of their adjacent office complex but was then never developed by AMP. The Keystone ground was subsequently sold off by Tyco/Dennis Koslowski following Tyco’s 1999 leveraged buyout acquisition of AMP Incorporated. The ground is now occupied by multiple chain restuarants/office buldings.

3925 Paxton St is a little closer to the location of the drive-in.
Sam Chapman was my grandfather. He died before I was born. Mom thinks that one of the old sites of his theaters was revived with a Loews multiplex owned by Magic Johnson’s company. Can’t verify that.
