The Cine Alfil was opened in 1941. It later became the Cinelandia. It was remodeled in 1968 to the plans of architect Armando Lopez Leon and re-opened as an art house cinema named Cine Losaur. It was last used a a cinema named Visionario which closed in December 2009.
It was then reopened as a live theatre Teatro Bambalinas, then became the Teatro La Pasiva which had closed by 2017. There is a restaurant operating on the ground floor.
