Regent Cinema

Located in Paignton, Devon with its entrance on a corner site on what was known as Station Square. The Regent Cinema was opened in August 1932. A central tower feature over the entrance was topped by a crown and had the REGENT name vertically down the tower. It was equipped with a Western Electric(WE) sound system and the proscenium was 27ft wide.

The Regent Cinema was closed on 30th March 1983 with Suzanna Love & Robert Walker Jr. in “Double Jeopardy”(aka Olivia). In 1987 it was put up ‘For Sale’ and was demolished for the site to be redeveloped as part of the ring road system.
