Mr. and Mrs. Russell Kramer had been going to five Missouri towns playing outdoor movies on a makeshift screen from their truck for 13 years beginning in 1947. In 1961, they took the plunge with a more traditional structure called the Windsor Drive-In launching May 5, 1961. The theatre would change names to the Hiway 2 Drive-In. It also mixed in some adult features toward the end of its run.
