Drive-in appears to have been totally demolished right after closing. A 2002 aerial photo shows the location as a car lot.
Today, it’s just an empty lot with no traces of the drive-in remaining.
From my research on the Valley drive in, the name, “Derby Drive in” was never mentioned.
Address for this one appears to be 3143 W Expressway 83, McAllen, TX. The site appears to be currently vacant. It is visible in the 1995 Historic Aerial at this location, gone in 2002.
Derby Drive-in may also have been called Valley Drive-in(1 screen, 500 cars, opened 1971, and closed and demolished in 2001. The site is now a house?
