This is the 2nd cinema complex to open in the West Edmonton Mall. It opened in Phase 2 on August 19th, 1983 by Famous Players and closed in 1999 when the SilverCity opened.

Grand opening ad posted
The lobby had some interesting posters displayed opposite from the concession stand. Wondering if anyone remembers all the 40 x 60 posters displayed. I do recall Apocalypse Now , Return of the Jedi ( Style A) , Raider of the Lost Ark re release, An Officer and a Gentleman, That’s Entertainment III and wondering if anyone remembered if there was anymore.
This theater closed on May 14, 1999 making May 13th its last day of operating. The last films shown there were Life Is Beautiful, Shakespeare In Love (1998), Existenz, She’s All That, Election (1999) & The Matrix.
