The Beeston Picture House opened on 19th April 1920 with Lydia Yeamans Titus in “A Romance of Happy Valley”. It was designed by T.A. Buttery and had 1,073 seats. CinemaScope came to the hall in 1955. It closed on 4th July 1959 and was later demolished. The entire section of this street is now occupied the Co-operative food store.
