The building opened in 1910 as Olympia Hall & Skating Rink(roller or ice?) in 1910(192 – 200 Parramatta Road). Screened movies in 1915 as Olympia Pictures(1 screen. Renamed Olympia De Luxe on 8/8/1931(1330 seats(1951 to 1956),1309 seats(1957 to 1959) ). Closed in october 1959. Then used for roller skating until 1973. Renamed Z Twin Cinemas(2 screens), operated by Frank Zeccola(Now Palace Cinemas owner), and opening on 12/5/1977. Renamed Stanmore Twin Cinemas on 28/8/1981. Renamed Stanmore Cinema(3 screens) Centre on 12/12/1984(cinema 1 – 383 seats, cinema 2 – 181 seats, cinema 3 – 164 seats. Cinema 2 seating reduced to 169 seats in 1989. Property transferred to Greater Union in 1988. Renamed Globe Theatre on 1/11/1997. Closed on 21/7/1999. The cinema used also used the Olympia Milk Bar next door(190 Parramatta Road). Demolished(date unknown?). The site is now shops(and offices?). The Olympia Milk Bar is there(possibly used?). The Olympia Milk Bar has been heritage listed.
