The Manchester Drive-In launched June 19, 1948 with Chester Lauck in “Goin' to Town”. The theatre was revamped for its second season in 1949 moving from a single loudspeaker to individual speaker sound. The theatre was owned by Garve Ivey of the 78 Drive-In in nearby Jasper. By 1950 it was operated by C.E. Crouch. By 1952 it was operated by John Miller of the Dixie Theatre, Cordova, who by then also operated the 78 Drive-In, Jasper.

The Manchester Drive-In was still open in 1957.
