Gem Theatre

The 1914 Sanborn shows ‘Motion Pictures’ operating in a 2-story stone building, one of a row which extended from the corner with Holden Street. The building had been constructed by 1888, and in 1907 was a grocery, with a painter’s studio on the 2nd floor. The address at this point was 110, but most or all have been demolished, and storefronts have been unified. The space is currently occupied by a very ugly 1970’s building.
